The 202V06600-0005 is an Electronically Controlled Silicone Oil Fan Clutch (also known as Viscous Fan Clutch, Electromagnetic Fan Clutch, or Fan Clutch Assembly) designed for SINOTRUK HOWO and SITRAK heavy-duty trucks. This advanced thermal regulation component actively controls the engine cooling fan speed based on real-time engine data, optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing noise compared to traditional mechanical fan clutches .

  • Electronic PWM Control: Unlike traditional viscous fan clutches that react only to radiator air temperature, this electronic version actively drives fan speed based on engine ECU commands (PWM signal)
  • Variable Silicone Oil Viscosity: Utilizes high-viscosity silicone oil (1084 type) to precisely modulate fan speed according to actual engine cooling demand
  • Fuel Efficiency: Reduces fuel consumption by 2-5% compared to binary on/off fan systems by operating the fan only at strictly necessary speeds

Function Description

The electronic silicone oil fan clutch operates using a viscous fluid (silicone oil) contained in a working chamber. When the engine ECU detects a need for cooling (high engine temperature, heavy load, or A/C activation), it sends an electrical signal (PWM) to the clutch's electromagnetic coil .

This signal commands a valve to release silicone oil into the space between the drive and output plates. The viscosity of the oil creates friction that transmits torque from the engine to the fan. The longer the electrical signal, the more oil circulates, and the faster the fan spins. When cooling is no longer needed, the valve closes, oil returns to a reservoir, and the fan idles with minimal residual effect .

This electronic regulation allows for extremely precise control, reducing mechanical shocks and optimizing fuel consumption, as the fan operates at full speed only when strictly necessary .
